January Member Spotlight – Dave Chance

Dave Chance is a full-service architectural photographer serving Southeastern Virginia. After graduating from the College of Architecture at Virginia Tech, Dave spent almost a decade in the construction industry.  His photographs are informed by both his architectural education and his construction industry experience.

Dave’s devotion to architecture gives him a photographic edge in serving architects, building owners, and construction firms.  He takes time to understand each building, and to portray it in the best possible light.  With every project, his goal is to create beautiful photographs that reveal the subtle qualities of the design and construction.

Dave’s photographs are frequently used in publications, marketing materials, and award submittals. His long list of satisfied clients includes winners of local, state, and national design awards.

Dave Chance joined SMPS in 2010 as a Silver Sponsor. He is now serving as Photography Director for SMPS’s Virginia Public Relations Committee. He is an active Associate Member of AIA, serving on the Outreach Committee of AIA Hampton Roads. Dave is also an active member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate (HRACRE).
